The men’s bags in this collection are cut from full-grain hides that are vegetable-tanned in Tuscany, following a method the tanneries there have relied on for centuries. Rather than fast chemical shortcuts, the process works through natural tannins drawn from tree bark and long rest periods inside wooden drums, and that is what gives the leather its density and its strength. A bag made this way is built for daily use, because it takes the knocks of commuting and travel and, instead of wearing out, it darkens and gains character year after year.
One craftsman, start to finish
Nothing in our workshop is handed off to a production line.
