Men’s belts in genuine full-grain leather
Our belts are made entirely by hand in genuine full-grain leather, vegetable-tanned with a method that has been used for centuries through traditional techniques. Working only with natural materials such as tannins keeps the leather free of substances that would harm people or the environment.
Men’s leather belts for every style
Coryum’s handmade men’s leather belts work just as well with a sharp outfit as with something casual or sporty. For a ceremony or a classic, elegant look you can choose a genuine calfskin belt with a 3 cm or 3.5 cm buckle, while a wider strap of at least 3.5 centimeters tends to suit sporty trousers or jeans. We also make belts for larger sizes, cut to measure beyond two meters in length to fit any build. If you want to know more, our guide on how to wear a men’s belt goes into detail.
Looking for a gift? Personalize a handmade leather belt
If you want an original gift that means something to the person who receives it, you can personalize our leather belts with an engraved name or set of initials, a personal touch that turns your present into something exclusive. The belts are made by hand and come in a range of tones such as black, red, blue and forest green, which makes them ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas or any other special occasion. Choose yours from our wide online catalog and take advantage of express courier delivery.
How our belts are made
The first step is cutting the strip of leather by hand. We then paint it by hand in the color set on your order, and sew it stitch by stitch around the buckle you chose, so that every belt ends up with a look and a character of its own. The edges are finished by hand at the end, and a final wax polish softens the leather and protects it against the weather.
The character of vegetable-tanned leather
Coryum’s leather goods are made with full-grain leather, vegetable-tanned and sourced from the best Tuscan tanneries. This method, in use since prehistoric times, keeps the leather free of toxic substances and carries a low environmental impact, because the hides turn slowly in wooden drums with natural tannins drawn from tree bark. Handmade goods produced this way grow more beautiful and more distinctive with the years.
A more sustainable way of working
We try to keep the environmental footprint of our work as small as possible, and sustainability matters enough to us that we look every day for more eco-friendly raw materials. Our Tuscan leather belts are made with top-grade vegetable-tanned full-grain leather, which is why you will not find a single chrome-tanned belt in our range, since chrome tanning relies on substances that can pollute and harm both people and the environment.
The difference between cuoio and pelle
In Italian the words "cuoio" and "pelle" are often used as if they meant the same thing, yet they do not. "Pelle" covers leather in general, from cuoio to calfskin and exotic hides, while "cuoio" is a specific kind of vegetable-tanned leather. In our catalog you will find handmade bull-leather belts with a sturdy feel, made from a single layer of cuoio, alongside men’s belts in soft calfskin padded with reclaimed leather rather than plastic or cardboard.
Men’s leather belts made by hand for you
Wearing a handmade Made in Italy belt means standing apart with an accessory that never goes out of fashion, a high-quality piece created just for you by the hands of an artisan. In the Coryum workshop you can also find the right companions for your look, from a leather briefcase for your days at the office to a hand-stitched leather wallet. If you travel often, our travel wallet lets you keep everything you need in one place without the risk of losing documents. That is the beauty of craftsmanship, making unique products for unique people with real character.
