Si sente e si odora che è fatta a mano con amore. È piaciuta a tutti. Un grazie all'artigiano che produce queste cinture conciate al tannino (concia al vegetale che è anallergico) e che offre fibbie senza nichel e cromo al quale io ho una grave allergia cronica.

Doride nickel-free leather belt

The classic "Doride" men’s belt is made in genuine full-grain calfskin with a hypoallergenic, nickel-free buckle 3.5 cm wide. The leather is vegetable-tanned, so both the buckle and the strap are safe for skin that reacts to nickel or to chrome-tanned leather.

The nickel-free buckle is handmade in Italy and baked at 160 degrees for lasting wear. You can personalize the belt with a hand-engraved name or initials, and every piece is made by hand in our workshop in Cerveteri, so no two are exactly alike.

Need to know exactly which belt length to choose?

Our first tip is to measure an old belt: starting from the buckle, find the total length of the belt, keeping it pulled taut.

Please note: the measurements shown on our site include the belt buckle.

Otherwise, you can use your waist measurement and follow these three steps:

  • take a tailor’s measuring tape;
  • measure your waist, or the point where you usually wear your belt;
  • then find the matching size in the table.

Please note: the measurements of our men’s leather belts shown on the site include the buckle.

Vegetable tanned

We work exclusively with vegetable-ttanned leather, using natural tannins found in plants.

This type of processing takes place very slowly in wooden drums, ensuring a low environmental impact and the absence of toxic substances that can cause allergies in humans.

Specifically, full-grain calf leather is used for belts.

unique pieces

Handmade for you

Our full-grain leather belts are entirely handmade, ensuring greater durability and a uniqueness that distinguishes each individual piece.

Therefore, any imperfection is synonymous with the product's craftsmanship.

Unlike industrial belts, the inside of our belts is made of leather without using plastics or cardboard.

This gives you a softer and more durable belt.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the belt is handmade with a nickel-free buckle.

Our leathers come exclusively from Tuscan tanneries and have the relevant certification.

Vegetable-tanned leather and hide are essentially the same thing.

By "pelle" (leather), we mean the entire macro-category of hides, including all types of tanning. "Cuoio" (vegetable-tanned leather), on the other hand, refers exclusively to vegetable-tanned hide.

In our workshop, you will only find full-grain vegetable-tanned leather and hide.

Calfskin belts are suitable for formal and elegant attire, while bullhide belts are for a casual and informal look.

Belts are made within 2 business days of ordering and shipped with 48h express courier.

To find out your exact size, you can read our size guide.

Our belts are hand-stitched with waxed thread to make them indestructible. Therefore, to be shortened, they would need to be unstitched and then re-stitched by hand by a cobbler/leather worker.

Grain is the outermost layer of the leather, the part we see when we buy a bag, wallet, etc.

There are three types of grain:

🔸 Full grain; this is the most prized because it has not undergone any processing that alters its appearance. The grain remains natural and intact, thanks to the non-covering finish. To work with full-grain leather, it is essential that the animal has no scars or particular marks that would reduce its value. For this reason, ensuring the animal's well-being is crucial! Only about 15% of leathers meet this characteristic, which is why the cost is higher.

🔸 Top grain; unlike full grain, the finish used is more covering, such as one with pigments. However, we are still talking about first-choice leather!

🔸 Corrected grain; in this leather, the surface layer is treated to reduce defects and marks. This category includes printed leathers or those with a very covering finish.
